I am Isabelle Girollet and this is my first blog’s article. Second last in a family of four girls, I was born in France in 1961. This year, I decided to begin a new adventure; the Internet so I can meet each one of you and walk every corner of this virtual world to present my abstract photography expression.
People say about me and my photography that I am a « photographer-painter » thing you can judge by discovering my work through this blog and the various events in which I participate.
Since a few years I share my life with Antoine, he is from these people who think I’m not a « photographer ». He’s probably right, not knowing how to handle the brush, I use the camera. My work is often associated with painting and usually has more a place in contemporary art events than in photography exhibitions.
Photography is for me a passionate story which began on my thirteens, when I was already beginning to fix images of architecture and industrial sites. Its expression comes from the combined influence of exciting visits with my father of sites bubbling with activity and my mother’s artistic sensibility who excelled in her musical talents.
And since this little girl who walked the sites and industrial spots, I evolved through photography in areas related to creation, developing my sense of observation, opening my eyes to the assessment of balances and perspectives. For the past five years, it is through this expression of color and enthusiasm of shapes and lines that I bloom.
